Paterson Shooting Victim Self-Transported to Hospital

Authorities in Paterson are on the search for a suspect wanted for firing shots at a man in the city causing injuries then running from the scene.

According to a statement released by authorities, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announced that at approximately 9:20, p.m. Thursday, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 19th Avenue, on a report of shots fired.

Police say upon arrival, police located a possible crime scene but were unable to find a victim.

A short time later, authorities were notified that a 19-year-old Paterson man arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
