Paterson Shooting Under Investigation

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 11:57 a.m. Saturday, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to 772 East 19th Street on a report of shots fired.

Authorities said upon their arrival, hospital officials notified police that a 20-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based on the initial investigation, the victim was in the vicinity of 229 Park Avenue when he was shot authorities said.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
