Police are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital overnight in Paterson.
The incident happened in the vicinity 199 Carroll Street shortly before 2:45 a.m. sending police to the scene where officers canvassing the area reportedly found the victim on Straight and Van Houten street.
EMS transported the victim to St. Joseph's hospital suffering a gunshot injury to the leg according to reports.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life threatening.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
