There is an active and ongoing investigation underway into a shooting that left a person seriously injured in Paterson Tuesday night.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Fair and Straight streets at around 10:30 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene found the unidentified victim suffering a bullet wound in his back at that location. Police say the victim was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital suffering severe injuries.
Police taped off the area where they searched for additional victims and a possible suspect.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
