Passaic County officials are investgiating a shooting in Paterson that sent one person to the hospital overnight.
According to police, the incident happened in the 100 block of Belmont after where officers were alerted to reports of shots fired with a person injured at that location.
Police arrived at the scene found the victim suffering a gunshot wound to the back according to police.
EMS transported the victim to St. Joseph's Medical Center where doctors began tretment.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
