Paterson police are searching for a suspect after gunfire rang out in a city neighborhood Monday afternoon, leaving a vehicle riddled with bullets.

The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. in the 400 block of East 32nd Street when a ShotSpotter device detected multiple rounds of gunfire.
Officers quickly responded and secured the area with police tape as they searched for victims.
While no injuries were reported, investigators discovered that an unoccupied vehicle had been struck by bullets.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and remains at large.

Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
