Paterson Responds to Overnight Shooting that Caused Injuries

One person was transported to the hospital after a gunfire rang out in a neighborhood in Paterson during the overnight hours.

According to preliminary reports, The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office's are investigating the shooting that occurred at approximately 12:10 a.m. in the 200 block of Walnut Street.

Police arrived at the scene found the victim bleeding after an unidentified person produced a gun and began to fire according to police.

Police did not release the extent of the victim's injuries at this time.

The latest shooting is the 9th victim struck by gunfire in Paterson since 3 p.m. Thursday. One of those victims died from their injuries. Police arrested one suspect who is accused of the shooting that injured two people on Rosa Parks Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.

The motive for Saturday night's shooting remains under investigation.
