Police in Paterson are investigating a shooting that left one person injured early Thursday morning.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 4:10 a.m. near the intersection of 21st Avenue and Summer Street, where a masked suspect approached the victim and opened fire.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was struck in the leg and transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
Witnesses described the suspect as Hispanic or light-skinned and armed with a handgun.
He reportedly fled the scene immediately after the shooting and remains at large.
Detectives with the Paterson Police Department are actively investigating the incident.
