Paterson police are investigating a shooting incident that unfolded in a local neighborhood on Friday night.
According to authorities, around 9:30 p.m., officers were alerted to gunfire by a ShotSpotter device in the area of Beech Street and Essex Street.
When police arrived, they located multiple shell casings, confirming that a shooting had taken place.
Detectives secured the scene with police tape and conducted a thorough search of the area for potential victims. Fortunately, no injuries were reported by the conclusion of their investigation.
At this time, police have not released any suspect descriptions, and no arrests have been made. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
