Police in Paterson are investigating a shooting that occurred in a neighborhood in the city overnight.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 300 block of 12th Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. sending police to the scene where officers closed the area off after locating multiple shell casings.
A thorough search of the area had no injured victims found according to authorities.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
