Authorities in Passaic County are investigating the motive behind a shooting that seriously injured a person in Paterson late Sunday night.
According to police., the shooting happened in the 200 block of Dixon Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Units who arrived at the scene found an unidentified person suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location.
Police say EMS rushed the victim to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment while officers detained a possible suspect and recovered a weapon.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office will assist with the investigation.
