Paterson Man Shot While Riding Dirt Bike

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announce that at approximately 1:58, a.m. Sunday, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Carroll Street on a report of shots fired.

Police say upon officers’ arrival they located a 19-year-old male Paterson resident who had sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds.

EMS rushed the victim to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

Police say based on the initial investigation, the victim was driving a motorized bike north on Carroll Street and as he passed the intersection of Harrison Street heard gun shots.

According to police, the victim jumped off the dirt bike and realized he had been shot.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
