Paterson Man Dies From Motor Vehicle Accident

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Chief Troy Oswald announced that at approximately 1:55 p.m., on Wednesday, January 22, police responded to the area of Main and Mary Streets in the City of Paterson in response to a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle.

Officials say the pedestrian, Rey Gaspar Ramirez Cano, 65, of Paterson was crossing Main Street when he was struck by a Ford F450 being operated by Jose Alexandro Cordero Ramirez, 62 , of Maryland.

Mr.Gaspar Ramirez Cano was pronounced deceased at 2:12 p.m at Saint Joseph’s University Hospital. No other vehicles were involved in this collision, and Mr. Alexandro Cordero Ramirez remained on the scene presented a valid license.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
