According to information released by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Officer-in-Charge Patrick Murray, Anthony Moore of Paterson was taken into custody on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

His arrest stems from an August 4 shooting near Park Avenue and Summer Street.

Police said officers responded to the area around 10:39 p.m. that night after receiving reports of gunfire. A 19-year-old male victim from Newark was located suffering from gunshot injuries.

He was rushed to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening wounds. Investigators were also able to identify a crime scene at the location.

Following a detailed investigation, authorities determined Moore was allegedly responsible for the shooting.

He is now facing multiple charges, including first-degree attempted murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree certain persons not to possess a weapon.

Prosecutors added that Moore was also charged with third-degree hindering apprehension and fourth-degree possession of a high-capacity magazine.
