Paterson Man Among Four Arrested by Narcotics Task Force in Bergen County

Authorities announced today, the arrest of four Passaic County residents accused of selling Oxycodone and Xanax to undercover narcotics detectives in Paramus.

During the week of March 2, Sophia Treich, 18, and Anthony Jimenez, 24, both of Totowa, distributed suspected Oxycodone pills and Xanax bars in Paramus to an undercover detective with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force. 

On March 16, the undercover detective arranged to purchase suspected Oxycodone pills from Jimenez in Elmwood Park. Jimenez arrived at the prearranged location to complete the drug transaction. At that time, police personnel approached and arrested Jimenez, as well as his co-conspirators, who were later identified as Treich, Anthony Mangione, 21, of Little Falls,  and Anthony Ferguson, 29, of Paterson. 

Suspected Oxycodone pills were located and seized from their possession. Additionally, suspected Marijuana, in a quantity less than 50 grams, was located and seized from Mangione's person. 

Further investigation determined that Ferguson was the supplier of the Oxycodone pills. The total value of the drugs seized on this date was estimated at $450.00. 

Jimenez and Treich were each charged with one count of distribution of controlled dangerous substances, namely Oxycodone and Xanax and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely Oxycodone.

Ferguson was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely Oxycodone. 

Mangione was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely Oxycodone, and possession of marijuana, under 50 grams, a disorderly person’s offense. 

The Honorable Judge Louis J. Dinice, J.M.C. set bail at $25,000 with a 10% cash option for each of the aforementioned defendants. 

Following arrest processing, all four were remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
