Paterson Gunfire Injures Two

A shooting that sent two people to the hospital in Paterson has authorities.

Police responded to the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police found a male victim, only described as a 44-year-old city man - suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

A short time after, police were called to a Carrol Street home for a report of a person shot. Arriving officers found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks. He was also transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

According to police, evidence from the scene indicates both individuals were shot at the same location.

A black male suspect who was last seen wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans was observed leaving the scene immediately after the shooting, according to reports.

The incident remains under investigation.
