Passaic County authorities announced that at approximately 1:10 a.m. today, members of the Passaic Police Department were dispatched to the area of 3rd Street and Mercer Street on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival the police located a potential crime scene but were unable to locate a victim.
Police found multiple shell casings in the area and the suspect fled the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
