Passaic Man Shot in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that at approximately 2:19 a.m. on members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Broadway between East 27th and East 28th Street on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival responding officers were unable to locate a victim or potential crime scene.

A short time later members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 29-year-old male Passaic resident arrived at Saint Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based on the initial investigation the victim was in the area of East 28th Street and Broadway in Paterson when he was shot.

A potential crime scene was subsequently located in the area of East 28th Street and Broadway.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
