EMS transported a male gunshot victim to University Hospital in Newark after gunfire rang out in Irvington overnight.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to 1300 block of Springfield Avenue for reports of shots fired at approximately 10:20 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found the victim injured at that location.
Irvington Township Police are handling the investigation and what led up to the incident.
There were no arrests reported.
