An overnight shooting in that occurred in a neighborhood in Newark is under investigation by police.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 40's block of Evergreen Avenue before 12:30 a.m. where officers arrived to find evidence that a shooting had occurred at that location.
EMS rushed a male victim to University Hospital after he reportedly suffered gunshot wounds to his body.
The extent of the man's injuries were only reported as serious but stable.
