Police in Newark are looking into the motive behind a shooting that injured a man in the city's South Ward overnight.
According to police, at approximately 3:40 a.m., a ShotSpotter activation alert police of gunfire that erupted near the intersection of Bergen Street and Clinton Avenue.
Officer arrived and found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his hip at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspect fled the scene and remain at-large.
