Overnight Armed Robberies Reported in Elmwood Park, Mahwah

A set of armed robberies that occurred in two Bergen County towns are under investigation by police.

According to reports, the first incident occurred at the Liberty Gas Station located in the 100 block of NJ-17 shortly before 3:15 a.m.

A male suspect arrived at the business armed with a gun and took an unknown amount of cash from employees before he fled the scene on foot reports said.

Police in Elmwood Park are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a 7-Eleven store, located on the 300 block ok Market Street, at approximately 4:15 a.m. Thursday.

Upon arrival, officers learned an armed suspect in a ski mask entered the store, pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied handing the suspect approximately $350 in cash.

The robber - who was described as black male, approximately 6 feet tall, last seen wearing dark clothing and a the ski mask - is believed to have fled in a vehicle with tinted windows that was parked in an adjoining lot.
