Police are investigating a shooting that left two individuals injured after a gunman fired more than a dozen rounds in a city neighborhood late Monday night.

According to preliminary information, a ShotSpotter alert notified officers of gunfire near 301 Market Street just before 10 p.m.
Responding units arrived and found two victims suffering gunshot wounds—one to the neck and another to the leg.

Both individuals were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment and are expected to recover.
Authorities secured the scene with police tape as detectives began collecting evidence.
Investigators recovered approximately 15 shell casings at the location.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified and is leading the ongoing investigation.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. No motive has been determined at this time.
