Orange Police Director Accused of Sexually Harassing Female Lieutenant

Orange New Jersey

A sexual harassment investigation has Hakim Sims, Orange Police Director, suspended while officials investigate allegations that he repeatedly harassed a female lieutenant.

The female lieutenant claims that Sims repeatedly harassed her on numerous occasions. In the claim, she also mentions being hit with administrative charges after reporting the alleged harassment.

In January, the lieutenant also file a lawsuit in Essex County Superior Court after she claims officials failed to properly investigate the allegations.

A 2.5 million dollar claim was countered by Sims against the lieutenant and the city claiming this is all politically motivated.

Under the suspension, Sims will continue to receive his salary.
