Orange Police Arrest Armed Man Who Possessed Drugs; Juvenile Also Arrested

Police officials in Orange are reporting the arrests of a man and a teenaged boy who were caught with a gun and drugs on a street in the city Wednesday.

According to police, Mr. Omar S. May, 41, of Orange, was arrested in the area of 536 Morris Street after police launched an investigation in complaints of drug sales and illegal activity in the neighborhood.

Police say they found May and a teen selling drugs at that location.

Police charged the pair with possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Heroin), distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance on school property, possession and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 500 Ft. of a public housing facility, possession of a controlled dangerous substance(Marijuana), conspiracy, possession of paraphernalia, employing a juvenile in a drug distribution scheme, and certain persons not to have weapons.

May was remanded to the Essex County jail and the juvenile we took the youth to the correctional facility according to police.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
