Orange NJ Man Charged After Pocketknife Thrown During Altercation at American Dream

An altercation inside American Dream in East Rutherford ended with an Orange man in custody after a pocketknife was allegedly thrown at another person, causing minor injuries.

The incident happened at approximately 9:11 p.m. September 4 at the Bergen County entertainment and shopping complex.
 

New Jersey State Police said troopers responded to the mall after receiving a report of an assault.

 

A preliminary investigation determined that an altercation occurred during which a pocketknife was allegedly thrown at the victim.

 

Police arrested Jonathan Moore, 36, of Orange, and charged him with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and terroristic threats.

 

Moore was transported to the Bergen County Jail, where he was lodged pending a detention hearing.
 

The investigation remains active.
