One of Two Men Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announce that on Wednesday at approximately 4:42 p.m., officers responded to Church Street near the intersection of Broadway, for reports of two pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle.

Officials say a 2013 Toyota Prius struck the two pedestrians, who were not on the crosswords, as they attempted to cross.

Police say both pedestrians were transported to Saint Joseph’s University Hospital for treatment. Edwin Gonzalez, 62, of Paterson was treated for minor injuries. While Guillermo Gonzalez, 65, also of Paterson, remains at the hospital, with serious injuries.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
