One of Three Winning Mega Millions Tickets Worth $5K Sold in Essex County

Bloomfield

Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director, announced that there were no Mega Millions game jackpot or second-tier New Jersey prizewinners.

The winning numbers for the Tuesday, Jan. 17 drawing were: 20, 31, 54, 56 and 59. The Gold Mega Ball was 03, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 05.

There were three third-tier prizewinning tickets sold that matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball drawn winning the $5,000 prize.

Those tickets were purchased at the following locations:

· Essex County: Plaza Wines & Liquors, 123 Bloomfield Ave., Bloomfield;

· Gloucester County: Wawa #974, 123 Paulsboro Rd., Woolwich Twp.; and

· Mercer County: Wawa #8339, 2936 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence Twp.

If those tickets had been purchased with the Megaplier option, it would have multiplied the prize to $25,000.

In addition, 13 other players matched four of the five white balls drawn making each ticket worth $500. If those tickets had been purchased with the Megaplier option, they would have multiplied the prize to $2,500. Moreover, 86,531 other New Jersey players took home $169,301 in prizes ranging from $1 to $250, according to Hedinger.

“Congratulations to the lottery winners and to the retailers that sold the winning tickets,” said Hedinger. “For selling the winning tickets, the retailers have become many more Lottery ‘lucky locations’ overnight.”
