Police reported non-fatal injuries for a shooting victim that occurred in a section of Newark Saturday night.
Over a dozen rounds registering on a ShotSpotter device in the vicinity of 11th Avenue and South 9th Street sent police to the scene around 10:25 p.m., where officers arrived and found shell casings but no victims.
Officers notified area hospitals to be on the alert for potential walk-in gunshot victims.
According to authorities, while searching in the area of 159 South 9th Street, police found the victim suffering gunshot injuries.
Police taped off the area and began investigating the incident, but there were no other victims found.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
