Police in Plainfield are investigating a shooting that injured a person in a section of the city on Saturday evening.
Gunfire erupted in the vicinity of West 4th and Liberty streets before 7 p.m. sending police to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, police say they found an unidentified person struck by bullets at that location.
The injured was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
Police have not released the motive for the shooting at this time.
