One person was transported to the hospital after a shooting at a location in Newark caused injuries.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire erupted in the 30's block of Tillinghast Street shortly before 9:50 p.m. sending police to the scene to investigate.
Unite arrived to find an unidentified person struck by gunfire at that location according to reports.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police set up a crime scene in the area where they searched for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
There were no other injuries reported.
