One person was transported to Jersey City Hospital after a shooting caused injuries overnight in the city.
The incident occurred in the teens block of Lexington Avenue before 2:35 a.m. when police responded to reports of shots fired with a person injured.
Police and EMS arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the buttocks according to preliminary reports.
A search of the area by police had detectives locating shell casings and other evidence.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation. There were no arrests reported.
