Police and EMS are on the scene of a shooting with one person down at a location in the city at this time.
Gunfire erupted in the area of Madison Avenue and Lafayette Street at around 4:45 p.m. sending police to the scene where they found the victim suffering a gunshot wound to the head according to reports.
The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
UPDATE : 8:10pm This was a confirmed homicide of 28-year-old Michael Eargle of Elizabeth.
