Newark Police and Major Crimes detectives conducted a crime scene operation for a shooting incident with injuries that occurred in the city's South Ward Sunday.
According to a preliminary investigation, the early morning shooting happened around 1:25 a.m. at 233 Weeqhahic Avenue.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering bullet wound reportedly inside the home.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and was last reported in stable condition.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined and no arrest made at this time.
