Authorities are reporting at least one fatality in a shots-fired incident in Neptune Township on Wednesday night.
At approximately 8:23 p.m., gunfire rang out near 1327 Washington Avenue, prompting a police investigation.
Officers arrived and found an unconscious and unresponsive person suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say a second person was rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment then listed in critical condition.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Neptune Township Police are actively investigating.
