One Dead in Paterson Shooting as Authorities Search for Answers

A deadly shooting incident in Paterson has initiated an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, as authorities work to determine the circumstances and motive behind the fatal violence.

The shooting occurred just before 8:35 p.m. Monday in the area of 18 Pennington Street and Park Avenue, where local police received multiple reports of shots fired. 

Responding officers arrived on the scene and discovered a 33-year-old Paterson resident suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders administered medical aid on-site, but the victim was later pronounced dead, officials said.

Detectives located a weapon at the scene, but no arrests were announced as of early Tuesday morning. 

The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification to the family.

Authorities have not yet confirmed a motive, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
