Early morning gunfire in Newark has authorities investigating a fatal shooting.
Gunfire rang out in the area of 6th Ave. West and North 14th Street shortly before 2:30 a.m. sending police and EMS to the scene where they found one person unconscious and unresponsive struck by apparent gunfire at that location.
The victim was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police setup a crime scene where they searched for evidence. There has been no arrests reported.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
