Police took a man in custody and charged him with firing more than a dozen rounds onto a city street early this morning in Paterson
There were no immediate reports of injuries after a ShotSpotter activation that alerted police to multiple rounds of gunfire that rang out in the area of Temple Street and North 7th Street shortly before 4 a.m. according to reports.
Several police units arrived to the scene were they found a suspect in the area who was reportedly in possession of a weapon.
The suspect was placed in custody and a weapon was recovers.
In a separate incident, a foot pursuit that happened in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Lyons Street had officers place one person in custody and charged him with possession of a weapon at a round 4:15 a.m.
The Paterson Police Department is handling the investigation.
