The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting that involved a police officer in Jackson Township last night.
According to authorities, sometime before 9 p.m., police fired their weapons at a suspect in the 30's block of Laurel Avenue causing serious injuries.
The victim was transported to CentraState Medical Center authorities said.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no injuries to officers.
