Non-Life Threatening Injuries for Separate Overnight Shootings in Newark

An investigation is underway into separate shootings that accured in the city that left two people injured. 

Several rounds of gunfire rang out in the 600 block of Broadway in the city's North Ward at around 9 p.m.  Responding police officers already patrolling the area, quickly arrived to the scene where they reportedly found a male victim struck by gunfire.

The victim, reported to be in his early 30's, suffered a leg injury. The man was conscious and alert during his transport to University Hospital where he is expected to survive. 

Shortly before the Broadway shooting, Police rushed to the 30's block of Halsted Street after several reports of shots fired that erupted in that area. EMS transported a male victim to University Hospital suffering a non-life threatening gunshot injury/graze at around 8:40 p.m. 

Police begin a search for vehicle only described as a Dodge mini-van or white BMW that several male suspects occupied. 

NOTE:  No one was injured in a reported shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Clifton Ave. at around 10 p.m. 

Newark Police are investigating all three incidents.
