Police are looking into whether a shots-fired incident that occurred in a neighborhood in Paterson is responsible for a gunshot victim who walked into St. Joseph's Hospital Saturday night.
According to authorities, a ShotSpotter activation indicated about 13 rounds of gunfire that rang out at approximately 11:10 p.m. in the vicinity of Temple and North 6th streets.
Police arrived at the scene and found evidence that shooting occurred, but after they searched the scene, officers were only able to locate property damage at the crime scene.
A short time later, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted police when a person entered the emergency department suffering a non-life threatening bullet wound in the leg.
Authorities have not officially confirmed where the victim suffered their injury but have launched an investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
