There were non-life threatening injuries reported for a male found shot in Newark's West Ward on Monday morning.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 488 South Orange Avenue at around 3:30 a.m.
Police arrived at the scene and found a male suffering a bullet wound in his buttocks according to officials.
Officials say suspects occupying a black or dark-colored vehicle fired several shots at the victim then sped away from the scene. EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital for treatment his wounds.
Police say the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
