Non-Life Threatening Injuries Reported for Man Struck by Car in Elizabeth

Police are on the scene investigating a pedestrian strike that sent a man to the hospital this afternoon in Elizabeth.

Emergency responders were called to the vicinity of 3rd and Fulton streets at around 4 p.m. a person struck by a vehicle.

Units arriving at the scene found an adult male down on the ground suffering injuries after a vehicle struck him at that location.

According to Elizabeth city officials, EMS rushed the man to University Hospital in Newark where he suffered some scrapes and bruises but is expected to recover.

The man reportedly walked in between parked vehicle just before being struck by the car officials said.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
