Non-Fatal Injuries for Newark South Ward Gunshot Victim

Newark Police have launched an investigation into a shooting that left a male injured in the city's South Ward on Thursday evening.

According to officials, officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 461 Clinton Avenue at around 7:20 p.m. sending police to the scene where they found a male suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital where doctors treated non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives taped off the area where they conducted the active and ongoing investigation into the motive behind the crims.

No arrests have been reported.
