NJ TRANSIT Rail Service Experiencing Systemwide Delays Due to Extreme Cold

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

NJ TRANSIT officials are advising riders that rail service across the entire NJ TRANSIT system remains subject to delays of up to 30 minutes due to ongoing weather-related conditions.

The frigid, below-zero temperatures impacting New Jersey are causing operational challenges throughout the rail network, affecting equipment and overall service reliability.

As a result, commuters may experience slower service and schedule disruptions during both peak and off-peak travel periods.

Passengers who rely on mass transit are urged to plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and monitor NJ TRANSIT service alerts for the latest updates before heading out.

NJ TRANSIT continues to work to maintain safe and reliable service amid the extreme cold conditions.
