New Jersey

The New Jersey Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Commission is proud to offer ten scholarships to current high school seniors who are New Jersey residents in the amount of $5,000 per student.

Officials said the scholarships will be awarded based on the application review by the independent reviewers appointed by the Commission.

The online application includes three (3) essays on assigned topics.

Applicants selected for the final review will be required to email two school and community service reference letters and an official high school transcript.

The scholarships must be awarded directly to the winning students' colleges, universities, or vocational/technical colleges by June 24, 2022.

The online application portal will go live on Sunday, January 16 at 5P and will be open for submissions until 5 PM Friday, March 18, 2022

Applicants must respond to three essay questions:

*How does the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. inspire you as you think about your future? (100 to 300 words)

*Please tell us about your service to others during your high school years. (100 to 300 words)
