An Atlantic City man has been sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to drug, weapons and witness tampering offenses, according to Atlantic County authorities.

On Monday, June 15, 2026, 32-year-old Ibn Rickett of Atlantic City was sentenced to five years in prison and must serve three-and-a-half years before becoming eligible for parole.

Rickett pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, and witness tampering.

According to investigators, law enforcement officers executed a lawful search of a residence on the South Unit block of Florida Avenue in Atlantic City on February 29, 2024.

During the search, authorities recovered evidence indicating Rickett was using the residence to distribute narcotics and unlawfully possess firearms.

While being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility on those charges, Rickett was accused of attempting to interfere with the investigation.

Prosecutors said he sought assistance in persuading a witness to provide false information to police on his behalf, resulting in the witness tampering charge.

The investigation was conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Atlantic City Police Department.
