Authorities in Bergen County reported the arrest of Dashawn D. Hooks, 22, of Teaneck, on charges of possession and distribution of explicit images of minors.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
According to officials, on Thursday, August 24, 2023, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Dashawn D. Hooks during an internet investigation for explicit images of minors.
The investigation revealed that Hooks used the internet to view, download, possess, distribute, and share items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent images of minors, officials said.
Officials say as a result of the investigation, Dashawn D. Hooks was arrested on Thursday, August 24, in Paramus and charged with second-degree possession as well as distribution of explicit images of minors.
Hooks was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ, authorities say.
