Authorities in Bergen County announced the arrest of 32-year-old Christopher B. Bentos, of Garfield, on charges of distribution and possession of explicit materials involving minors.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella stated that the arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck.
According to BCPO officials, on Wednesday, July 2, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Christopher B. Bentos as part of an investigation into explicit materials involving minors.
The investigation revealed that Bentos used the Internet to view, download, possess, distribute, and share items depicting minors, Bergen County authorities said.
BCPO officials say as a result of the investigation, Christopher B. Bentos was arrested on Wednesday, July 2, and charged with second-degree distribution of Explicit Materials Involving Minors and third-degree possession of Explicit Materials Involving Minors.

Bentos was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, Bergen County officials.
