Authorities in Bergen County announced the arrest of 42-year-old Fernando Sandoval of Hackensack on charges of explicit contact, attempted explicit contact, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal explicit contact.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella stated that the arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Hackensack Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Antista.
According to Bergen County officials, on Thursday, November 6, the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged explicit contact of a juvenile that occurred in the past.
An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department revealed that Fernando Sandoval had explicit contact with and endangered a juvenile in Hackensack on more than one occasion, between December 21, 2024, and November 2, BCPO officials say.
As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, November 12, Fernando Sandoval was arrested in Hackensack and charged with second-degree explicit contact, second-degree attempted explicit contact, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and fourth-degree criminal explicit contact, BCPO officials said. 
Bergen County officials said Sandoval was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
